New Year Resolutions

Every year I make these silly resolutions which I never end up doing like most people. So this year I am making this blog post so at the end of the year I can look back on this post and see what things I have done.

So first off is to drink more water. It is something I really want to do for this year as it has no calories and makes you skin look better. It keeps you healthier as it cleans out all of the toxins in your body. Some of the amazing things that water does to your body is you can get softer lips, a natural glow and hair increased growth rate. So it's an alround amazing thing to drink!

The next resolution is to spend more time with my friend. I feel like over the year of 2013 I didn't spend as much time with my friends as I would like to but that is partly because I have a social fear which stops me from doing many things as just talking to my friends. I still have the fear but I would love to try to over come it as much as I can.

To work on my blog is my next resolution. I have had so much fun working on by blog and I can't wait to spend 2014 making it become a part of my life which is really exciting! I also love writing post it makes my life that little bit better and I can't wait to see what happens to it!!

The last resolution has to not spend money unless its something I need. Which means I will still buy the odd piece of makeup but random little things I am not going to be buying unless my parents pay! This is because in 2013 I spent so much money and I don't have any to spend on things.

Winter Party Look

On the 17th I had my school party/dance and I had a few tries to get my makeup looking how I wanted so I thought I would share my look. I also think it would look perfect for new year!

First off my dress is a tight black dress with a netting over skirt which is from topshop and it was in the sale so it was only £18 instead of £30! Unfortunately it is not for sale anymore but any black dress goes with this look. For the shoes I wore were just plain black heel but they were very small heels and I had them forever so I don't think you can get them anymore. As it is cold at the moment in Scotland I wore a black leather jacket on the way to and back from the dance. I also wore a pair of skin coloured tights to keep my legs warm.

For my make up I started off by putting on my Pink Grapefruit Body Butter from the Body Shop to moisturize by skin. Then I used the L'Oreal Paris Nude Magique Eau De Teint Foundation which is in the shade 100 which has a very light coverage. I used the Real Techniques buffing brush to blend it in. Then for under my eyes and on my blemished I used the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer in the shade 1 Fair and blended it in with my fingers. I then used my Stay Matte powder by Rimmel London in the shade 001 Transparent and I used my Real Techniques Powder Brush to put it on. Next I put on my MAC powder blush in the shade Fleur Power with the Blush Brush by Real Techniques. I then did my eye makeup, the mascara I used was the Falsies Volume Express by Maybelline. For eye shadow I used my Rimmel London Trio Eye Shadow in the shade 621 Orion but I only used the white colour over my lid using the Real Techniques Detailer Brush. Lastly on my lips I first put on my EOS lipbalm and then applied my Kate Lipstick in the shade 107 by Rimmel London which completed the makeup look!

And I kept my hair simple by taking the top section and tying it back and curling the part that's in the hair bobble.

Winter Blushes

I enjoyed making my Winter Lipstick blog post I thought I would make a another Winter blog posts so today I am going to be doing my favourite Winter Blushes. I think blushes are essential to make sure your makeup doesn't become washed out. I usually like to go for lighter colours but I did try a darker colour than I usually use and I love it so I think I'm going to start using more blushes that are not ones I would look for.
To start off with an old favourite which I bought at the start of the year. It is the Bourjois Little Round Pot Blusher in the shade Lilas s'Or 33 which I think they have redesigned to lid so it might look different to the photos. First off it smells absolutely amazing! It has a shimmer which look like it will come off like you have just put glitter on your face but the shimmer is not noticeable its more of a natural glow. It is a dark pink/red colour which looks so lovely. I think it's about £7.99.

The next blush is my MAC Powder Blush in the shade Fleur Power. It is a light pink colour and it gives the effect of its cold outside. It is nice for all times of the year but I love it a lot in winter. It is a matte finish and even if you don't like the colour there are tones to choose from. It is a bit more money than the other two blushes at £18 but its so wonderful. I am definitely buying more after Christmas because the blush is amazing and I really want to try new shades.

The last blush I am going to talk about is the Sleek Shimmer Blush in the shade Pomegranate. It is £4.49 which is so amazing! It does have a shimmer as suggested by the name which gives it a glowing effect. The packaging is really nice and the smell is very sweet! You have to be careful with this blush because the first time I used it I look sunburned which was not good so you only need a little bit because it is so pigmented.
